Sheena Collier

Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce

In just over a year, Sheena Collier has built a vibrant and groundbreaking economic mobility platform for the Chamber unlike anything else going on in our city. As our Director of Economic Growth, Sheena successfully launched our Pacesetters Initiative, a partnership of Chamber members who pledge to use their collective purchasing power to create opportunities at scale for local enterprises of color. She quickly recruited 11 major Boston businesses and has established the Chamber as a matchmaker between members and local MBEs, while also hosting peer-learning sessions and raising awareness of the benefits of supplier diversity. She is hard at work on a millennials of color festival scheduled for this fall that will connect young Bostonians of color and provide an opportunity to experience and create a new narrative that infuses creativity into conversations about Boston’s livability, while also elevating the platform of individuals and organizations who are already working to reframe the discussion around the city’s identity and retention of millennials. And she is working with a variety of partners from different sectors on a program that encourages internships as a means to success for young people in Boston, particularly young people of color. She is ambitious, inspiring, and has a contagious passion for her work. She has recharged and reshaped the Chamber’s mission from just engaging more diverse businesses and individuals, to one that is focused on understanding their needs and challenges, and working to ensure that our city is one where they – and all people – can thrive.
