Mark Brown
John Hancock
In his nearly 15 years at John Hancock, Mark has been a steadfast agent of change– within the company walls and throughout the community. As a co-founder of John Hancock’s PROUD group, he spearheaded the first pride flag raising at corporate headquarters and led the first JH contingent marching in Boston’s Pride Parade. He has coordinated global PROUD initiatives such as Day of Pink and Ally Week, and annually ensures that John Hancock is represented at events such as Boston Spirit Magazine’s LGBTQ Networking Night.
Mark also brings his passion for inclusion to his day job. As a Program Consultant for John Hancock’s Diversity and Inclusion team he promotes collaboration and growth across all of the company’s Employee Resource Groups. He has been instrumental in establishing partnerships with organizations like Work Without Limits and encouraging employee participation in on-site events such as Disabilities Mentoring Days. Most recently, Mark represented John Hancock at Boston University’s Questrom Business School’s Diversity & Inclusion Conference, speaking on the importance of allyship.
Mark’s enthusiasm for creating a diverse workplace is evident in everything that he does. He is an example of someone of truly lives his mission, and his passion is contagious.
