Shayna Seymour is co-anchor of WCVB’s NewsCenter 5 Weekend EyeOpener newscasts.  She is also a reporter, producer and occasional anchor for WCVB’s award-winning nightly newsmagazine, Chronicle. Seymour joined Chronicle in April 2006 as a reporter/producer and has since earned numerous distinctions, including winning an Emmy Award in 2015.  During the last 11 years, she’s covered a range of stories: profiling Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres, traveling throughout New England, and tackling the serious topics of teen pregnancy and the disability rights movement. She also anchors Chronicle’s “What’s New?” series, a monthly report on the latest attractions in food, fashion, and fun in the Greater Boston area.

Seymour joined WCVB after working as an anchor and general assignment reporter at WGGB-TV, Springfield.  She launched her broadcast career at WSTM-TV, Syracuse.  Prior to that, she was employed in the corporate world.

A native of Amherst, Massachusetts, Seymour received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Spelman College and Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University.  She currently resides in the Greater Boston area with her husband and two children.
