Randa G. Newsome is Vice President of Human Resources and Global Security for Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN). Raytheon Company, with 2016 sales of $24 billion and 63,000 employees, is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, civil government and cybersecurity solutions. Raytheon is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.

As Raytheon’s top human resources officer, Newsome is responsible for providing worldwide direction for the company’s human resource initiatives. As such, she leads organizational change, leadership development, learning, talent acquisition, diversity, executive compensation, performance development, benefits and the execution of contemporary Human Resource process and Security.

Newsome has 20 years of experience in human resources, organizational performance management and security operations. She joined the company in 2001 and was most recently vice president for Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business, overseeing all human resources and security operations for a global workforce of over 14,000.

Prior to her role at IDS, Newsome was vice president of Human Resources and Security for the former Raytheon Technical Services Company beginning in 2009, where she set human resource and security strategy for the $3.2 billion government services business to ensure support for the globally-deployed workforce. Newsome was also director of Organization Performance and Talent Management for Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, responsible for organizational effectiveness, talent management, talent acquisition, learning, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Newsome earned a master’s degree in public administration with emphasis in human resources management from Valdosta State University and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Florida State University.
