PASSION:
Tanvi’s passions include encouraging health and wellness, mentorship and advocating for women’s rights.
IMPACT:
Like many creatives, Tanvi knows that success in this industry is achieved primarily through building a network of mentors and connections. Having support from mentors, friends and role models, she strongly believes in helping young creatives blossom. She pays it forward by also being a mentor. Tanvi guest lectures at local institutions, like Boston University, speaking with students on how to break into the industry, improve their creative thinking and perfect their portfolios.
Being an expatriate of Mumbai, Tanvi is passionate about changing patriarchal perspectives and ingrained behaviors in the Indian community and beyond when it comes to women’s rights and sexual assault. This month, Tanvi created a campaign and website Super Sanskari Sarees that countered an episode where an Indian woman suggested a group of men rape a couple of girls who were wearing short skirts. Just a few days after, Tanvi sprung into action, collecting a group of creatives, stylists and models to create a counter-campaign raising money for Sayfty, an organization who educates and empowers Indian women and girls against violence. The campaign gained press in India, as well as the United States, recently being featured in Adweek and The Clio’s “MUSE” website. In addition to mentorship and advocating for women’s rights, Tanvi aims to shift the oftentimes indulgent and toxic festival-culture to one of mindfulnesses, health, and wellness by founding the Fractal Film festival in New England.
