Karina Barreto
Associate Director, Diversity and Inclusion
Parexel International
PASSION:
Her passion lies in supporting diversity in the Boston community, in particular the Hispanic Community.
IMPACT:
She was the president of National Hispanic MBA (now Prospanica Boston) for many years and helped connect the Hispanic community. This allowed for scholarships for students getting into finance degrees. The organization was not doing well, and she really helped it succeed. She did this on top of her regular job and being a mom. The Hispanic community knows her well in the Boston area. She mentors women, coaches/sponsors, and provides a supportive ear to help people with tough situations. She is generous, kind and loving. Her network crosses many states since she has been actively attending the Prospanica annual conferences.
I would love to recognize Karina for her leadership in Boston area on the topic of Diversity & Inclusion. She is also a graduate of the Partnership of Boston Fellows program. She has worked at EMC, Simmons College and MIT as the head of Diversity & Inclusion for the humanities college where she designed a program to bring in more minority faculty.
