Ginaya Greene Murray

Prevention Program Coordinator
Mass General

PASSION:

Ginaya Murray, a 30-year old Charlestown native, is creating a positive impact on her community through “Turn It Around”, a Charlestown youth group dedicated to raising awareness around the dangers of prescription drug misuse in their neighborhood.

IMPACT:

As a young city woman with close loved ones who have dealt with addiction, Ginaya understands and now educates the everyday pressures that can lead to substance use and other high risk behaviors.

There are about 40 youth in the “Turn It Around” program between the ages of 13 and 20. Ginaya plays an integral role in these young adult’s lives— a present figure dedicated to keeping them on the right track through academic and social support. Her passion for being a mentor is what makes her excited about this part-time role. Her goal? To be a positive example for the next generation. She hopes to better prepare and equip Charlestown youth for life’s challenges.
