In choosing the title of this event, it was decided that it would carry the name of a person who was respected for the qualities for which the Advertising Club stood.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element vc_custom_1412878466214\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That name was unanimously selected: Francis W. Hatch.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n<div class=\"gap\" style=\"line-height: 50px; height: 50px;\"><\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Francis W. Hatch<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n<div class=\"gap\" style=\"line-height: 25px; height: 25px;\"><\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Francis W. Hatch began his 40+ year advertising career in the Boston branch of Batten, Barton, Durstine &amp; Osborn (later to become the internationally famous BBDO) where he helped build the foundation of New England advertising. A poet, playwright, songster, and storyteller, he chronicled history as he knew it and lived it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element vc_custom_1414511481601\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Francis, also known as Frank, was a humanitarian and a leader in the community with a firm belief that it is good for the advertising industry to devote time to public service. He gave his time and energies to the Red Cross, the Red Feather, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and other organizations.
