She penned the first-ever travel guide following the official civil rights trail in the South, \u201cU.S. Civil Rights Trail: A Traveler\u2019s Guide to the People, Places, and Events That Made the Movement\u201d (Moon Travel, 2021). Douglas also contributed chapters to the New York Times best-selling \u201cFour Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America, 1619-2019\u201d (Random House, 2021) and \u201cChicago Exposed\u201d (CityFiles Press, 2021)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Douglas served as the Eugene S. Pulliam Distinguished Visiting Professor at DePauw University and senior leader with The OpEd Project (OEP), changing the shape of the public conversation by amplifying underrepresented expert voices. At OEP, she has led public voices fellowships and programs that include the University of Texas at Austin, Dartmouth College, Columbia University, Yale University, Northwestern University, Global Policy Solutions, the Aspen Institute&#8217;s New Voices in South Africa, Urgent Action Fund in South Africa and Kenya, and Youth Narrating Our World (YNOW) with Chicago Public Schools students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deborah D.
