The Ad Club Equity Project
Award Categories
Leading With Inclusion
Which company or institution is leading with inclusion? A diversity of voices is important in any work environment, but without inclusion, meaningful change will not take root. The nominee can be an individual within a company, a team, or the company or organization itself. Tell us how your nominee goes beyond the platitudes and eschews the performative to support real, substantive progress.
Mentoring Champion
Study after study has shown that mentoring supports professional development and advancement, and mentoring young people from historically marginalized communities helps to level a very uneven playing field. Nominees can be individuals or company-sponsored programs or initiatives.
Quiet Hero
We all know them. Tell us about the people in your business or sector who are quietly doing the work on equity, with little fanfare and no credit? Is there someone you know who is advancing inclusion in understated but important ways? The nominee should be an individual who has not been widely recognized for their work.
Emerging Professional Leader
Who is the leader early in their career in your company or your sector who gives you hope for a brighter, more equitable future? This is the category for them.
Champion of Social Mobility
What individual, team, company or organization is doing the most groundbreaking work in economic mobility, creating pathways for people into the middle class and beyond? Think about banks that have developed loan products that break down barriers to wealth building, or companies that hire formerly incarcerated people, giving them a chance at a family-sustaining wage. Maybe you know of a program that helps first-time home buyers create equity, or provides loans and support to women, minority and immigrant-owned small businesses. Who is moving the needle on mobility?
Leading in Supplier Diversity
What individual, company or organization is doing meaningful work in supplier diversity, helping to lift up minority-owned business enterprises. Is there a company that has figured out how to use MBEs as subcontractors? Is there a purchasing director who has developed a good system to ensure that MBEs are able to compete for their business?
Marketing Campaign
Which Boston advertising or marketing company created the best multicultural campaign in 2020 or 2021? Which team created a campaign that allows historically marginalized people see themselves in the stories?
Employee Network and Affinity Group
Does your company or another organization you know of do a great job with Employee Network and Affinity Groups or other kinds of committees working on inclusion? Does your company have a great group like this, working collaboratively to support historically marginalized employees. Nominate them for this award to lift them up as an example of how such groups can contribute in a positive way to organizational culture.
Disability Champion
One in four Americans has some kind of a disability. Do you know of an individual or a company doing great work in disability inclusion? This is an opportunity to lift up their work so that others can follow their lead.
LGBTQIA+ Champion
Which company or individual is engaging in the best practices around LGBTQIA+ inclusion? Who is investing in LGBTQIA+ inclusion in their organization? Who effectively advocates externally to advance LGBTQIA+ rights? Who can we in Boston hold up as a national example?
Deadline for nominations is December 13, 2021
