On July 26, we heard from Marci Grebstein, Chief Marketing Officer for JCPenney.

Marci Grebstein joined JCPenney in June 2017 as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer. She is responsible for leading the Company’s marketing strategy, overseeing all facets of brand advertising and promotion, including creative, traditional and digital media, events and cause marketing, publicity and customer relationship management. A highly-accomplished marketing executive, Grebstein brings over 20 years of retail marketing experience overseeing advertising campaigns, brand positioning, market analysis and digital strategies designed to enhance brand awareness and accelerate revenue growth.

Marci’s talent in balancing the art and science of marketing will help JCPenney evolve, establishing a more emotional connection with consumers and ensure that consumers understand that JCPenney offers style and value for all.

Prior to joining JCPenney, Grebstein served as chief marketing officer for Lowe’s Home Improvement, where she was instrumental in driving an integrated and data‐driven omni channel marketing approach to build customer loyalty and company growth. Before her role as chief marketing officer for Lowe’s, she served as vice president of advertising for the retailer, leading the development and execution of Lowe’s overall advertising strategy and ensuring that the company’s brand promise was brought to life consistently across all platforms.

In 2016, she was named as one of The Top Women in Retail in Total Retail’s sixth annual list of the leading female executives in the retail industry.

Prior to Lowe’s, Marci served as Vice President, Marketing and Brand Strategy for grocery chain Food Lion, a division of Delhaize America. She also was a 16-year veteran of Staples, Inc., serving in executive roles overseeing B2B marketing, e-commerce, media and marketing. Prior to Staples Marci held advertising positions at CVS Health Corporation, and Arnold Advertising.

Marci is a graduate of Boston College Carrol School of Management, and has served her profession and community through various board memberships.
